Hi, I'm Sami Tulimat — a Product Director at Microsoft, Entrepreneur and writer

I grew up in Homs, Syria, where I first learned about kindness, community, and entrepreneurship. At 16, I launched my first venture—an internet café that quickly became a hub for my neighborhood. That experience ignited my love for technology and taught me what it means to dream big, lead through action, and build something from scratch. It was my first lesson in leadership and a six-year journey that lasted until the war in Syria forced its closure. Driven by a desire to solve real problems through technology, I moved to the U.S. to study computer science. In college, I discovered the intersection that has defined my career ever since: business, technology, and people. That intersection led me to product management.

After graduating, I joined Microsoft as a product manager and spent the majority of my career there—by choice, working across a range of sectors from enterprise and security to education. I also took a sabbatical to join a healthcare benefits startup, reconnecting with my entrepreneurial roots. When that startup was acquired, I returned to Microsoft to join an internal startup building the future of Windows in the cloud.

There, I led the vision and 0-to-1 launch of Windows 365 Frontline—a new cloud OS built for frontline and part-time employees in the very industries I had long studied. I became an intrapreneur within a company of 200,000+, driving alignment across global teams and helping shape an entirely new product category.

Leading Windows 365 Frontline became a masterclass in scaling product development. I went on to lead a portfolio of products and coach a team of product managers, while continuing to grow the multi-million-dollar business I helped bring to life.

Throughout my journey, I’ve deliberately explored multiple verticals to become a generalist product leader—someone who can build, scale, and adapt across complex domains. I’ve worked across distributed teams of 100+, navigated high-stakes executive reviews, and coached new PMs as they found their footing.

How I can help

Today, my passion lies in empowering people and building products that make a real difference. I believe great product leaders aren’t just strategic thinkers—they’re grounded in who they are and committed to continuous learning.

Through my coaching services, I help:

  • Aspiring and mid-career PMs break into product management or prepare for interviews
  • Startup founders clarify their product strategy and define MVPs
  • Experienced PMs and leaders grow their influence, improve team dynamics, and navigate complex transitions

If you’re looking for a thought partner—whether to refine an idea, level up your leadership, or just talk through what’s next—I’d love to connect.
